2019 Emily Cain
Paul Rudolph Scholarship, $2,500 Award
Emily Cain is entering her junior year at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. She will graduate in 2022 with a Bachelor of Architecture, a professional degree. She is currently pursuing a minor in Lighting. Her goal is to enroll in a post-professional degree program for Urban Planning and to incorporate elements of sustainability into architectural design on a larger scale. Each semester, Emily’s work has been selected to be archived by her studio professors. During the school year, Emily works for the School of Architecture Publications Department on Influx, the School of Architecture’s book showcasing student work. Additionally, she also works as the social media content creator for the School of Architecture’s Instagram account, @rpi_architecture. Emily has also applied to attend a study abroad program at Tongji University in Shanghai, China during the spring semester of 2020. Emily has been the recipient of both the first and second year faculty awards for “General Academic Achievement and Promise of Excellence in Architecture.” This summer, she is working at Solstice Planning and Architecture in Sarasota.
